When shooting pics with my iPhone I always try and use the native camera and no third party apps. Why? Because using the actual native camera controls for some reason just make it work better and images are clearer. Now after years of doing iPhoneography and videos using my iPhone, I've come across 3 great apps for creating amazing pics/videos without loosing quality.
Brandon's Top 3 Apps for iPhoneography
1.) Camera + App - This app I absolutely love, because you can import you images like many into the app, but do ALOT of editing and changing colors etc. You are then able to export in full resolutionwithout loss of quality. Amazing!! If you don't know, the iPhones shutter speed is about 2 seconds when you push the button or press the button on screen. When you do that the image may be blurred if the subject moves. To eliminate blur use the Camera + app, press and hold (do not release) the shutter button to take the photo. Once you get the shot in place, even if they are moving, release your finger the photo will almost always be fully focused. No blur! :-)
2.) VSCOcam App- This app is a beauty and by beauty, I mean has amazing beautiful filters like those you would use in Light Room etc. You can almost always import your photo into this app, add a filter and call it good. Great app to have. You can also download your DSLR photos from your Canon or Nikon, to you iPad or iPhone, and edit them in this app as well and BINGO amazing looking photos.
3.) FilMic Pro- Looking for a great app to control overexposed footage on your video recordings? This app is your go to ALWAYS!FilMic Pro allows you to lock your exposure settings, focus, white balance etc, all in one app! Talk about professional film making on a smartphone with full control.
Well, I hope this post helps you with getting the most out of your iPhone/smartphone and that you all will go out and create AMAZING photos and videos all in the comfort of your smartphone.
